Reverie is excited to welcome a new offering to our coffee lineup, Ethiopia Kochere. Kochere, which is located in the much-beloved coffee growing region of Yirgacheffe, is a district located adjacent to Chelelktu in Southern Ethiopia. This area’s red-ish clay soil has an interesting makeup and mineral content that provides Kochere-grown coffees with their signature tea, stone fruit, and citrus flavors.

Our lot of Kochere is grown nestled between tall hilltops with an elevation between 1795 to 2000 masl. This high growing area’s cooler temperatures and sun cover result in the coffees here growing slowly, yielding deeper sweetness and more pronounced aromas. The cherries, comprised of heirloom varietals, are picked ripe, begin depulping within 12 hours of harvest, and are processed using spring water.

In the cup Kochere displays flavors of gentle oolong tea, stone fruits, and a dense, coating milk chocolate sweetness. The delicate tea notes provide a lovely foil to the heavy candy-like body, while its plum and nectarine acidity burst out of the top end. Expect balanced acidity, brash sweetness, and a voluptuous finish.
